Where The Heck Is Rocky Point?

May 7th, 2010 04:10:02 am

El Gitano, the Gypsy -by El Gitano Peasco, "The Peasco Gypsy"

More importantly, the big question is how will Puerto Peasco ever compete for billions of turista dollars/Pesos with places like Cozumel and Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, or Mazatlan, Acapulco, Ixtapa, etc.?

I just Googled Mexico and on the very first linked website, (out of 338 Million options) every other resort destination is noted but the site has absolutely no reference whatsoever about Rocky Point. In fact, on their nicely done front page map of Mexico the Rock isnt even listed.

So then I Googled Mexico Vacations and this time out of 162 Million hits (links) youd also be hard pressed to find anything about Rocky Point. But on that first page of Google results youll see deals like 5 days and 4 nights on the beautiful island of Cozumel at a five star resort for just $229.00!

Google keyword search trends clearly shows that each and every month, worldwide, Google alone has over-- now brace yourself 100 Million searches for just the one word Mexico!

But it gets much worse for The Rock as Google also shows NLT 100 other search terms used daily by would-be travelers to this wonderful nation, and although Peasco (as of this writing) is not even on that list I noticed that our neighbors San Felipe and San Carlos, Mexico are there!

Oh no, it is even worse than I thought as I just now visited the Mexico Tourism Bureau online and the brief mention (if you can find it) about Rocky point leaves mucho to be desired, to put it kindly.

At the end of the day it looks like were all on our own!

So I, Gypsy, being one with The Rock, have concluded that what we need to do as a community is set up a Co-op, raise a small amount of capital and then launch our own online version of a Come To Mexico ad campaign so that Peasco will be on the first page of Google (and other search engines) for those travelers seeking adventures and vacations in Mexico!

Viva Mxico y Puerto Peasco!
