Urban improvement in Old Port

March 2nd, 2010 11:13:30 am

Work to improve the "urban image" in the Old Port area will began following the Holy Week vacation period. This decision was agreed upon during a meeting; in order to build a consensus among authorities and neighborhood residents for the work to be done in this area. During the meeting, a number of ideas and opinions were expressed to assure that the work's duration would not have a negative impact on the residents, businesses, and of course on the visitors. In addition, there will be careful analysis to ease the flow of traffic, and availability for parking. The plan to redesign the urban image of the Port, was credited by local residents and the community with donations of up to 50 million pesos.  The project will eliminate aerial cables, have new urban furnishing, road signs, trees and new payment.

The new improvements would definately be positive too many residents and local businesses. This will also be a nice suprise for all the visitors who love Old Port!
