On January 13th, the state of Sonora, including the cities of Sonoyta and Puerto Penasco began intensive monitoring along the highway to Puerto Penasco Mexico. The Mayor of both cities attended a meeting, along with tourism industry insiders, to discuss better surveillance along the highway; stating, "we must protect visitors at all cost!", said one attendee. Federal Highway Police have been set up along the Highway towards Puero Penasco Mexico. Officers will continue to investigate any and all suspecious behavior.
