Mexicos Big Bash

Tonight Mexico's big bicentennial bash begins. Celebrating 200 years since Mexico's War of Independence was initiated by Miguel Hidalgo, festivities will take place throughout the country, and even beyond its borders. The most effusive celebration will undoubtedly take place in Mexico City where a parade featuring 27 parade floats will begin at 6pm on the corner of Paseo de la Reforma and Dublin street, running along Paseo de la Reforma to Avenida Juarez, then continuing to the Zocalo, where el grito will take place as well as concerts and a fireworks show. Over 20 giant screens have been set up along the parade route to allow all spectators a great view of the parade, and the festivities will also be televised.
