Fun Things to Do in Rocky Point, June 2010

May 30th, 2010 04:10:02 am

As Memorial Day Weekend comes to a close the official kickoff to Summer begins. Here are some fun events taking place in Puerto Penasco in June, 2010:

MARINA FEST PUERTO PENASCO 2010

Date: June 1 thru June 20

This is a GREAT annual event with many things to enjoy throughout its 2-week run. There will be music, dancing, a carnival with amusement rides, fireworks, lots and lots of food, the crowning of a festival queen and much more! Perhaps the biggest event is the long anticipated concert by famed Jenni Rivera, a Mexican-American recording artist and songwriter, to be held June 18 at the Hacienda La Cordobesa on the outskirts of town on the road to Caborca.

Come for one day, a weekend or the whole event! You won't be disappointed!

For more information call the event coordinator
Aide Vega 011-52-638-38-32221
(voicemail available)

OVER THE LINE TOURNAMENT (O.T.L.):

Date: June 5, 2010
Sponsored by The Baja Cantina & Hotel
Location: On Sandy Fields @Sandy Beach

Come to play or cheer on your favorite team to victory! Over-the-line is a game related to baseball and softball. Like those games, you have the batter, pitcher, and fielders. Because a game requires only three people per team, it's considerably easier to get a good informal game going. Equipment consists of a rope (or lines marked in the sand), an "official" softball bat and a rubber softball. No ball gloves are allowed except in women's games, however golf gloves may be used when batting. For information on how the game is played, check out Wikipedia. Call John at 602-840-1528 or Mike at 928-344-0032 for more information on how to sign up or information on the event.

Circus Mexicus 2010 : ROGER CLYNE & THE PEACEMAKERS:

Date: SATURDAY, JUNE 12TH
Place & Time: Chango's Rocky Point Bar & Grill on Sandy Beach

It's time to Celebrate Life and Song June 12, 2010 with Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers in Puerto Peasco (Rocky Point), Mexico! Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers are proud to announce Circus Mexicus in Rocky Point on Jun. 12, sponsored by our friends at Chango's Rocky Point Bar & Grill on Sandy Beach.

Pack your toothbrush and sandals and join old amigos and new compadres as we reconvene on the beaches near the bay, pass around cervezas, tequilas and sweet rums to celebrate life through rock-n-roll with the familiar songs we all know and love.

The show will be in the same lot as last year, next to Chango's, directly behind Sonoran Spa Resort.

National Basketball Championship:

Date: SATURDAY, JUNE 19TH
Place & Time: Gimnasio Municipal

For more information please call: Fernando Trasvia at 638 38 35130

And don't forget the fishing, tide pooling, kayaking, golfing, swimming, snorkeling, ATVing and all the other activities available to you on a daily basis in Rocky Point. Assuming, of course, that you can gin up the energy to pull yourself off the beach long enough to participate. ;)
